  • Support to the Educational Program
of Resistance to Drugs and Violence

    • It is a preventive and strategic program which mainly intends to educate children at school with the help of policemen in uniforms and teachers. It specially emphasizes children in the 4th degree of the Fundamental Teaching by showing them the effects of the drugs and teaching them the necessary abilities and motivation to keep themselves away from that harm. That Program also seeks to offer the students a chance of seeing the adults as friends and people who they can trust, by developing a positive attitude relating to the authorities and respect by the laws. Our partnership was started on January/2000, by contributing a monthly amount of money to collaborate with the expenses of school books, T-shirts and diplomas for children who participate the Program.
  • Support to Programa Beneficente
    “Criança - Cidadão do Futuro”

    • The Program intends to assist children and adolescents devoid of the essential conditions for their subsistence as fundamental instruction, nourishment, health, leisure, habitation and professional development. It maintains, for children and adolescents in the 10 – 14 age group, a program of pedagogic and material assistances which assure the admittance and permanence at school until they get the Conclusion Certificate of the 1st degree of the regular teaching. For children in the 15 – 17 age group, it implements professional programs and courses by aiming at the young’s ability to enter the work market. We established a partnership with that Program on June/1999 by contributing a monthly amount of money and donation of 6 kg of soluble coffee equivalent to 11 kg of roasted and ground coffee. That Program assists 210 children and adolescents daily.

  • Movement for Adults Reading Teaching

    • In 1997, the Municipal Secretary of Education started that Movement. At first, teachers, who were available as volunteers, were contacted to teach adults reading in the quarters whose demand was urgent and necessary. In some points of the town, community leaders and priests, pledged to develop the citizenship of the population from their quarters, contacted the Town Hall to make a joint effort to install those classes for adults reading teaching. Thus, the Government of Catanduva, through the Secretary of Education, started carrying out one more of its Program points by beginning some preliminary studies to establish that Movement. Cocam collaborates monthly with the payment of a reading teacher.
In addition to the mentioned partnerships, Cocam donates soluble coffee monthly to 25 Entities including Nurseries, Asylums, Hospitals and Beneficent Associations from Catanduva and Pindorama towns and São Paulo city.
